Maury Seldin’s blog, including the essays and other writings, is a supplement to the Homer Hoyt Institute’s Subprime Crisis Research Program and its emerging New Initiative being designed to enhance an interdisciplinary approach being applied to the subprime crisis debacle. It is also designed to provide supplemental material for the Subprime Crisis Seminar on Improving Strategic Decisions being offered at the Academy of Senior Professional at Eckerd College (ASPEC). The intent is three fold: first, the blog is an additional vehicle for Maury’s ongoing efforts to increase his understanding of a changing system, second, the blog is an additional vehicle to advance the body of knowledge about the changing system, and third, perhaps the most important, to disseminate what is known and some ideas about dealing with the risks of the unknown to those who are making the decisions that impact the system. Thus, the participants are expected to bring expertise of some sort to the discussion or to utilize the knowledge gained in order to improve the quality of decisions.
Stephanie Yates Rauterkus is the co-leader and co-operator of the two blogs, Maury's General Blog and Maury's Seminar Blog.
