The purpose of the Homer Hoyt Institute's Subprime Crisis Research Program
is to facilitate the development and dissemination of a research agenda and
research product to address critical issues in mortgage markets and their related
consequences. This research program is an outgrowth of a Research Roundtable.,
"Developing a Research Agenda on the Subprime Mortgage Crisis." The
Subprime Crisis Research Program is part of HHI's continuing efforts to gain
a better understanding of the system to help improve the quality of real estate
related decisions.

The importance of this special interest is that the feasibility of a research
roundtable to launch Project New Initiative is underway at the time of the opening
of the site and participation in various ways may be boosted through conveyance
of a better understanding of the role and history of HHI using research roundtables
in its decisions on research support.
